NATURE OF THE CASE: This was an appeal of a conviction for receiving stolen property.

FACTS: Hall had arranged with Rojas and Hidalgo (D) to sell him stolen electric conduit. Hall was caught by the police with $4,500 worth of conduit. The police then allowed Hall to sell the recaptured goods to D. D were arrested and convicted of receiving stolen property. They appealed: the goods were not stolen and the most they could be convicted of was an attempt to receive stolen property.
