NATURE OF THE CASE: This was a dispute over an indentured contract.
FACTS: Mary Clark became an indentured servant to G.W. Johnston for 20 years by contract. Mary was a free woman and voluntarily entered into the contract with Johnston. She tried to get out of the deal and was remanded to the custody of Johnston by the trial court. Mary appealed.
