CARBO V. UNITED STATES 314 F.2d 718 (1963) CASE BRIEF

CARBO V. UNITED STATES
314 F.2d 718 (1963)
NATURE OF THE CASE: This was an appeal from an extortion conviction.
FACTS: A person by the name of Sica moved to dismiss an indictment against him based on the fact that he was unduly prejudiced by the charge in essence because the charge stated that he was a person with known by the victim to possess 'underworld connections.' Sica also objected to testimony from a Leonard and a Nesseth to the effect that by reputation they knew Sica to be an 'underworld' man and a 'strong-arm' man. These objections were overruled and this appeal ensued.
