NATURE OF THE CASE: This was a case involving mail fraud and the impeachment of a jury
verdict.
FACTS: Clark acted as a juror in a mail fraud case. After a seven-week trial, the jury
deliberated and Clark was the only voting standing for acquittal with eleven for conviction.
Clark was then found to have withheld on void dire, information as to her previous
associations with the accused and other aspects of bias and prejudice. Clark was convicted
of contempt and asserted as error admission of evidence of the deliberations in the jury
room.
