NATURE OF THE CASE: This was an appeal from a conviction for second degree murder.
FACTS: Before his trial for second degree murder, Frye (D) was given a lie detector test. D's counsel made an offer for the scientist who gave the test testify about the results. He also offered to have the scientist conduct an example test before the jury. Both offers were denied. D was convicted and appealed.
