NATURE OF THE CASE: This was a dispute over child support to an illegitimate child.
FACTS: P filed a suit to get support for her minor child. The Texas court recognized that D was the father and that the child needed the support and maintenance of her father but then ruled that because the child was illegitimate there was no legal obligation for D to support her and P would take nothing. The court of appeals affirmed.
