NATURE OF THE CASE: This was a dispute over a kidney transplant.
FACTS: Ps wanted to have a kidney transplant operation between identical twins to save
the life of the one whose kidneys were failing. Ds were the doctors who were to perform the
surgery but they refused to do so until the Ps got authority from the court affirming Ps
ability to give their consent to the operation between the minor twins. An action for
declaratory judgment was placed before the court.
