NATURE OF THE CASE: This was a dispute over the damages for wrongful conception of life.
FACTS: The jury gave the verdict to P on all claims. The District Court then disallowed the award for childrearing expenses because it found the evidence clear that P had sought to be sterilized for therapeutic and not economic reasons. The court also found that P prized the child she bore. P appealed.
