NATURE OF THE CASE: Osterhoudt (D) sought review of an order denying D's motion to quash
the government's grand jury subpoena directed to D's attorney, in connection with the grand
jury's investigation of possible income tax and controlled substance violations by D.
FACTS: The government issued a grand jury subpoena to D's attorney. The attorney was
representing D in connection with a grand jury investigation of income tax and controlled
substance violations. P sought informal disclosure of the amount, form, and date of payment
of legal fees. The lower court denied D's motion to quash the subpoena. D appealed.
