NATURE OF THE CASE: This was an appeal from convictions of assault resulting from consensual sado-masochistic homosexual encounters.
FACTS: Ds plead guilty to assault when the trial judge ruled that consent was no defense to an assault resulting in harm or causing grievous bodily harm. Each of the Ds intentionally inflicted violence upon another with the consent of the victim in consensual sado-masochistic encounters. Ds appealed the issue of consent.
