NATURE OF THE CASE: This was a 20-count indictment against 14 defendants, which emanated from a conspiracy to distribute cocaine. Three of the defendants convicted appealed.
FACTS: The government introduced into evidence plea agreements for nine of the cooperating witnesses as well as proffer letters for most of them. The letters make reference to the truthfulness and each of the plea agreements made five references to truthfulness. Ds were convicted and appealed.
