VASQUEZ V. GLASSBORO SERVICE ASSOCIATION, INC.
415 A.2d 1156 (N.J. 1980)
NATURE OF THE CASE: This was a case to stop migrant farm workers from being evicted from
their work camps.
FACTS: Vasquez (P) was recruited in Puerto Rico and came to New Jersey to work for
Glassboro (D). P's work was not satisfactory and P was discharged and told to leave the work
barracks. P had no money, was unable to speak English, and sought assistance from a
Farmworkers Coop. A Rutgers law student returned with P to the camp and requested P be
allowed to stay overnight. That request was refused. A complaint was filed seeking to enjoin
D from depriving P of his use of the quarters except through judicial process.
