NATURE OF THE CASE: This was a dispute over grants to municipal electric power companies.
FACTS: Alabama Power (P) brought suit against the Federal Energy Administrator for giving financial aid to municipal electric power companies as part of a federal public works program. P contended that it would be competitively injured as a result of these grants and that they violated the Constitution and relevant federal statutes.
