360 U.S. 474 (1959)
NATURE OF THE CASE: This was a dispute over the process due for dismissal from work for allegations of communism.
FACTS: Greene (P) was a defense contractor executive and his security clearance was revoked because of an alleged association with communists. At his hearing, P and other witnesses testified in refutation of the charges. No witnesses were produced by the government but it relied on confidential secret reports of informers to cross-examine P and his witnesses. P was fired from his $18,000 per year job and forced to find work at a salary of $4,700 per year. The Court of appeals sustained the government action.
