FREEDMAN V. MARYLAND
380 U.S. 51 (1965)
NATURE OF THE CASE: This was a dispute over the showing of the film 'Revenge at Daybreak.'
FACTS: Freedman (D) sought to show the film Revenge at Daybreak without first submitting the film to the State Board of Censors. Section 2 required such a submittal. Even though the film if submitted would have passed muster, D was still convicted of violating section 2 for not submitting the film in the first instance. The Supreme Court granted certiorari.
