68 A.2d 233 (1949)

NATURE OF THE CASE: This was a suit to recover a reward. Glover (P) appealed an order, which denied her recovery of an award for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a perpetrator of a murder.

FACTS: The Jewish War Veterans (D) offered a $500 reward for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the murderer of Maurice Bernstein. Notice of the reward was published in the newspaper. One of the suspects in the case was arrested. Police then received information from Mary Glover (P) that the other murderer was Reginald Wheeler the boyfriend of the daughter of P. P was questioned by the police and gave the names addresses and locations of where Wheeler and her daughter might have fled to. Wheeler was arrested due to the information from P. P first learned of the reward on June 12th, after she had already given the information to the police. P demanded the reward and D refused. P sued. Judgment was given for D and P appealed.
